Tino Martinez

Tino has been training in Jiu-Jitsu since he was 18 and received his Black Belt from professor Fabio Santos.
He gets on the mat for his love of training, and likes to challenge himself by travelling to train with high level talent and also by competing. Tino has a career in teaching law enforcement in hand to hand combat, and has real life experience in the field that he draws upon in his training and always looks to finish his opponents. Tino also likes to share his knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu with the students as well.

Tom Cronin

Tom started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2007’ and has always been a student directly under Carlson Gracie Jr. He teaches kids & adult classes and competes as much as possible. Tom’s favorite aspect of the school is watching students improve and overcome personal obstacles during their time on the mat.  Tom is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and also a Brown Belt in Judo. He believes that being well rounded is essential in martial arts and trains in self-defense, standing techniques and ground work.

“Personally, I like to train in all areas and positions with everyone that I’m lucky enough to meet. I feel training with people from different schools is also important as everyone brings something good to the table, Also if you don’t know how to engage opponents on the feet, then there is a huge gap in your skillset.“

Welcome New Instructor Clark Gracie

Who is Clark Gracie?
Clark Gracie has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since he was a small child and is a
Black Belt under his father, world renowned Red & Black Belt Carley Gracie and grandson to
the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Carlos Gracie Sr. Clark is also first cousin to our Head
Master Carlson Jr.
Clark’s accolades and list of titles are extensive, in addition to his previous National and
World titles some of his recent accomplishments include:

The Team Cleans Up The Southbay Again!

July 28th –
Over the past few years, the Carlson Gracie Team from Temecula has been dominating their divisions at the South Bay Open, The team turned out another amazing performance this year as many of our students enjoyed their first competition outing. Our Brother from Carlson Gracie Guam, Ian Santos went into his first tournament and landed a quick armbar from the guard and finished his division with Silver for the day. Johnathan Flores claimed his first gold medal in Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu competition, Malcolm Braniff had a great time in his first event as well and took home a Silver Medal. “I’m definitley doing this again, it was so much fun!” States Malcom, Nikko Tunsen also won his first Gold Medal and looked like a pro, scoring some of his wins with numbers like 21-0 on his opponents. Sam Sherrill entered his first Blue Belt event and fought very well in the same division as a couple of Blue Belt world champs. Adelita McGrath won gold in her bracket. Lance Cacanindin broke into Blue Belt gold with a shut out in his bracket and displayed some awesome technique and Tom Cronin grabbed a Silver for his first outing at Brown Belt at the Middleweight adult division. see our gallery for some images of the team at the South Bay Open.

Dean Lister Seminar

Dean Lister came to Carlson Gracie Temecula and showed some amazing techniques and strategies. From drills and exercises to escapes and submissions, everybody who was able to participate will have plenty of new material to learn and master. First Ever Kids Temecula Shootout

July 15th –
Today Carlson Gracie Temecula & Icon Sports performance hosted the first ever kids Temecula Shootout and it was a great competition.  A great big thank you to all the schools that came and the competitors that represented their academies so well. There were students from schools several hours away and many were first time competitors. Additionally we’d like to thank Cory & Shawn over at Grappling X for helping with equipment and announcements. We are big supporters of their events, also the parents that helped and the staff of referees and people working the tables. We look forward to helping the kids as they compete more and more in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Check out our photo gallery for pics on the event!
